    Do flashlights have shelf lives?

A buddy of my brothers had a birthday today. Being the nice guy I am, I felt like giving him a little gift. He was complaining about the time change and it getting darker sooner. I dug out an xl50, brand new that i picked up at lowes, to give him. I gave it too him. I told him to open it and I'd...

Alkaline brand least likely to leak?

Voniko, which is manufactured by like the third or forth largest battery manufacturer in the world and the second largest in China, claims their alkalines have "double barrier leak protection." Not sure how that works, or if it's a marketing gimmick, but so far they've got good reviews...

Are alkaline batteries in storage a fire hazard?

Have a look at this video: https://youtu.be/sTSQwtwr-Gg Those are ones that are abused, not ones sitting idle on a shelf, and the worse case scenario is just a mess to clean up. Nothing a fire hazard, other than the abused lithium at the end, but they're different than alkalines.

Are alkaline batteries in storage a fire hazard?

The only question you ask that I have a hard time answering is the one about the separator failing and the internal ingredients intermingled with each other. Maybe a build up of gas from the volume of the ingredients suddenly mixing would cause pressure to build up inside the cell, which would...

    Small Portable Radio's?

I have a road king, that's a cheap copy of the cobra 29. I still swear by the cobra 29 and the cheaper uniden 510xl. But really, your antenna can be more important than your radio. Channel 19 is still your best channel to get information on. I've also got some handheld cbs. Two are old crystal...

    Do flashlights have shelf lives?

Lol Speaking of shelf life and faulty capacitors, I just found a good excuse to dust off my old dreamcast, N64, Nes, Snes, genesis and ps1 that hasn't been touched for awhile and see how it goes. Might be calling my buddy for some repairs lol.

    Do flashlights have shelf lives?

I'm not the best educated on this topic but I believe the answer is no. If I recall correctly it just acts like an alkaline battery and vents its "guts" everywhere. Maybe makes a "pop" when it goes, but I don't believe it makes an immediate fire hazard. The paste it spews is conductive, so if...

    Do flashlights have shelf lives?

If its oxidation that kills maglites, then its not a good testament to their longevity. I carry two lights on my person at all times. I was given a streamlight protac 2AAA from a friend who's an engineer/matainence at a hospital. He bought it new and carried it everyday for about a year at work...

    Do flashlights have shelf lives?

I've never once complained about anything else about maglite. I'm not a guy that needs 20,000 lumens in a light. The 600 lumen ml300l i thought was great. The 200 lumens in an xl50 is great. The output of the mini mags are good. I have no problems with them how they come, my complaint is that...

    Do flashlights have shelf lives?

Not to be " that guy" that gets a thread shut down, but a maglite failing in a short time doesn't surprise me. I used to be a huge mag fanboy, but now I'm done with them. Over the past few years, I've not had one last longer than 6 months. And that includes 2 that didn't work right off the shelf...

    Cars, Man

This virus, plus with gas prices being 1.70 a gallon, I've seen an increase of exotic vehicles on the road. People must be self quarantined in their cabs. Saw a Subaru 360, Datsun 240z, GMC typhoon with an antique tag, Chevy LUV truck and a grand torino. Only 1 had an in state tag

Does olight customized18650's have ptc and cid protection?

Don't hold me to it, but if I recall correctly all cells that get imported to the U.S. (if that's where you live) must have PTC and CID protection implemented into cells, while the PCB is optional. I can't recall where I read this or how true it is

I don't think that Ikea Ladda batteries are Eneloops

I've long had the belief that they are made in the same factories, but not up to the same standards as eneloops. Unless the company buys eneloops and puts their label on it, then yeah. But I believe that a lot of these, like Amazon's, just use them as their supplier and manufacture, but don't...

Defective new S2R Baton 2 charging cable?

Honestly, if I was you, I would just back to where you bought your 2a charger and just buy a couple more and just use them for everything, even for the things you were using that 1a charger for. Or even buy a 3 or 4a charger. As you stated and sound like you already know, devices will only...

Defective new S2R Baton 2 charging cable?

It should work with a 1a charger. Are you sure your 1a chargers are good? I've had problems with aftermarket chargers lying about their charge ratings, that's why from now on, I only buy ones that are UL or ETL rated. I would seek out a good 1a charger, but regardless, you've got a winner with...
