    Emergency Vehicle Light

Okay, I've had really good luck with you guys, (I'm the guy who caught the SOS problem) and so I'm back. I got carried away with Fenix, now I'm going to ask you guys instead. I'm looking for a pair of flashlights (one for my pickup, one for her car) that hopefully will never be used. They'll...

    Fenix brand 18650s

And a fine job you did. Those of us who are electrically stupid appreciate it.

    Fenix brand 18650s

The Fenix name brand 18650s have numbers-- 2500, 2900, 3500 and now 5000. Do these matter? Can I mix them in a light?

    Charging 18650s, Again

No idea what a DMM is. Perhaps you haven't read the thread.

    Charging 18650s, Again

They were all Fenix brand name 18650s, but some were 2500, some 3500.

    Charging 18650s, Again

Okay, after 6 months in the two vehicles, the batteries that came out of the lights all read 4.02 to 4.16. (I figured out that the number on the recharger was what you guys were talking about.) So since one or two of the batteries was (were) down to almost 4, I figure that six months is about...

    Charging 18650s, Again

I warned you. The only part of any of that I understood was "once a year". I was thirty years a general contractor. Every time, EVERY TIME the current (ha! ha!) project electrician heard that The Man doesn't understand electricity, they'd convince themselves that after all this time, he...

    Charging 18650s, Again

That's easy. It's far more important to have fully charged batteries (or, at least, as fully charged as possible) available if I need them. I'll buy new batteries if I need to. But empty batteries right when I need them would be bad.

    Charging 18650s, Again

I realize this subject has been beaten to death, but I did quite a bit of searching here and I still don't have an answer to my question. I'm storing TK 75s in each of our vehicles and TK 35s in the house, all for emergencies. None of them see much use, one of the vehicle lights has never been...

The kindest thing you can do to American manufacturing is encourage savage competition.

    Headlamp and Flashlight for Sailing

Thanks. I'm pretty sure I will, I don't see how I can't. It's a thing I've always wanted to do. Iamlucky, what do you think? Specific recommendations? Anyone else?

Re: Where are they going? What do the Chinese have to do with it? Personally, starting with Apple computers, in general I prefer goods made overseas.

    Headlamp and Flashlight for Sailing

Now, there's an option! I have extra 6Ps and G2s. If I could replace the head on one or two of them, would that work?

    Headlamp and Flashlight for Sailing

I like Surefire. They were the first serious flashlights I've owned, and I have a couple 6Ps and some G2s. (The nylon copy of the 6P. They're 6Ps in spirit.) Surefire lights are the lights that made me aware that there are better lights than the silver, ribbed Everyready lights that never worked...

    Headlamp and Flashlight for Sailing

Okay, Skipper says there will be recharging available for 90% of the trip. There'll even be USB ports in my stateroom for recharging. (Whoa. Dude. I have a stateroom? Cool!) So if that changes any of your recommendations, I'd like to hear the new recommendation. Based on iamlucky's post, it...
