    What I really don't understand is what works or how to figure what works in different applications. For example what is a buck convertor? and do i need one? Sorry for the questions, but I honestly dont understand but really want to learn. This is what keeps my interest up in stuff like this.

    I have a hobby charger on the way and have been reading up on setting up for balance charging. After looking through the threads on trying to solder to magnets and the difficulty with it I thought why not use a thin alligator clip on magnet and no need to solder. Will this work?
