    Best flashlight for £50? ($80)

The Thrunite-store also sells and fulfills via Amazon on the US side for the same prices.

New Solarforce L2C carbon fibre host

I was hoping it would come in around $35 or so. Their price for the for the L2D is a bit high at $38.88, hopefully other retailers will offer the carbon closer to $40.

    Shinginbeam pRocket ?

Shiningbeam's site carries a 3 mode 2.8amp driver for $6.35. I'd probably guess it's the same the driver used in the p-rocket. Or if you're willing to wait on an order from China, you can find similar or better drivers for about $3-6.

Another version of ThruNite Ti - TiS

I just picked up a Tis from amzn last week since it was only $8. I'm impressed with the throw from the XP-E. I had to put my ZL SC52w to H2 to meet/exceed the Tis beam intensity during a backyard test. On L1 and M1 the ZL looked washed out due to its floody beam. It was a great lesson in how...

Night Adapted Vision: Why so Much Hype in Preserving It?

The functional value of using lower output levels recently clicked for me upon reading part of the FAQ on the HDS System site under "How Can I See Further?" and their white paper on LED Flashlights. I wasn't aware that vision response to light was logarithmic. I've recently started taking...

    What light for my Dad?

The Jet-Beam BA20 might be a good fit. It has a simple two mode (270lm/30lm) interface and good run times.

    2-cell EDC dilemma.

You might look into the Eagletac line such as the p20c2 mkII. The interface seems like it meets your requirements once you enable the strobe function. It will work with a 17670. I have an older version of this light with an R2 in it and it throws quite well.
