I have only been a dealer for a few months and knew about the new version, so I never ordered the 80 lumen version. My comparison was based on a rep sample and a few customer's personal lights. Granted, they could have had low batteries, but every one of them was not as bright.
Oh I see. Understood. All the while I had the impression you have the older 80 lumens for comparison. I truly hope that the newer ones are indeed brighter. I currently have an 80 lumens E1B and am awaiting for the LX1, and if the 110 lumens E1B are really brighter then so will the LX1.

Well, looks like I was wrong. According to Surefire, they have always been 110 lumens. They did not change the emitter. The ones that I compared our display model to must have had old batteries or the display just got lucky with a brighter LED.

Sorry for the confusion, guys.

So are we going to see a mis-labled box sell on the E!B's :)?

Naw, SF does it all the time with various lights. Looks like when their old stock of boxes is gone they use the new updated ones.

This is suprising but actually good news, espically for people who have the "80 lumen" model and were considering upgrading to the newer "110 lumen" model. Thanks for clearing this up.

They just updated their packaging as well. The latest shipment had stickers touting the higher output and 110 lumens.
