    Penlight

I'm looking for a 2xAAA penlight to be daily carried in a shirt pocket. Needs to be slim (like a pen), light weight, sub $50, and relatively spilly vs. throwy. I'm considering: Preon Penlight Fenix LD05 Streamlight Stylus Pro My concerns are: Preon Penlight - the high mode seems virtually...

    First Custom Lights I've Built

No resistors or circuits, the voltage is low enough that there's little risk of burning out the leds. Basically they're fancy keychain lights, but it's the perfect amount of light for walking around the house at night.

    First Custom Lights I've Built

It has to be switched on before the push button will work, that way it doesn't go off in a pocket.

    First Custom Lights I've Built

I have been making little flashlights lately for friends and family. The leds are 5mm 15,000 mcd white and they run of 2-3 coin cell batteries. Very basic, but they actually work really well. A little brighter then a photon. I plan to make more advanced lights in the future, it's a lot of fun...

    Who made this light?

Maybe a year or two ago, I saw a light that someone on the forums was building. I think he gutted photon rex's and built custom cases to house the electronics. Very flat, metal boxes with a carbon fiber back (I could be getting some of the details wrong). Anyone know who made these or any...

x-mass gift from my awesome wife

My wife knows just what to get me. She went over to the cpf marketplace and got me these two amazing brass peak's, so I have to show them off here. The larger one is an older AA Kilimanjaro (I called peak, it seems that there were only a few of this configuration made) and the smaller one is an...

Help me pick out a Peak

I don't know much about Peak lights but I keep seeing pictures of them pop up on the forum and they're always just stunning, especially the brass ones. I think brass is one of the most attractive metals so I'd love to add a brass flashlight to my edc, I just need to figure out what the best...

Is Quark AA2 cool white good for camping/backpacking?

I need a good light exclusively for camping and backpacking, something rugged that's a little more floody then throwy. I just purchased a Quark AA2 tactical and I'm waiting for it to arrive. I wanted a neutral but they were out of stock (well, actually I ordered a neutral but there was a...

    My Flea Market Find

My wife and I stopped at a flea market this morning, and buried behind some junk I found a little MH-C204F AA/AAA charger for $2.50 (I just checked, the same model is retailing for $45 on Amazon right now) and it came with 4 Nimh AAA's that charged right up and seem to be working great in my...

Getting a Quark Mini or Preon - Which tint?

I only buy cool white personally, but in all honesty my only experience with warms is from youtube videos and beam shots.

One of the few good things about colder weather....

I love wearing a jacket, usually means I get to carry an extra flashlight, multi-tool, lighter, and pepper spray.

Hi guys, when did you become crazy for LED flashlights ?

When I was kid my parents always bought us cheap dollar store flashlights that were dim as heck, if I was lucky sometimes my dad would let me borrow his maglite. Always wanted a better flashlight, just didn't think about it much. I didn't really get into flashlights until this past year or so...

What did you use your flashlight for today?

A few nights ago I was getting out of class and there was a power outage, all of the lights in the parking lot went out and it was pitch black and storming. If it wasn't for my light, I'm sure I wouldn't have found my car.

    Cellphone as a Flashlight

+1 That's the only time I use my phone as a light personally, I guess it never hurts to have another backup though.

    Mini-Maglight Mod Sugestions?

I have a mini-maglight (super dim) that I would like to try modding. What's the cheapest mod that I could do to make it comparable to my streamlight stylus pro in brightness?
