    SureFire EDC1-DFT and EDC2-DFT

How long has opticsplanet had these on their website? https://www.opticsplanet.com/v/edc1-dft-ha-surefire-18350-123-everyday-carry.html

    Anyone edc a surefire?

What are you doing to your lights to get them to burn out so quickly? The L70 rating (the point at which they get to 70% output) for XML emitters is rated at 72,600 hours at 1.5A. That's a runtime of about 8 years if you ran it 24/7. Are you overdriving them or something?

    DARPA Surefire Collection

Did a quick google search and found this old thread regarding them. It looks like you have 5 of the 6 DARPA lights that Rat mentioned in his post. He also mentions there were only 50 DEF-3D’s made. https://www.candlepowerforums.com/threads/surefire-darpa-def2.378019/ These are apparently that...

    SureFire EDC1-DFT and EDC2-DFT

I'm getting the impression these lights will never se the light of day.

    "Practical" Lumens?

I think what you're really after is a light that uses flat regulation versus the step down regulation most modern lights use to cheat on the ANSO FL-1 standard. Flat regulation being where the light pushes more power to the LED as the battery gets tired, to keep the output the same right up...

    Surefire EDCL1-T

Was just looking around Surefire's website - it looks like the EDCL1-T and EDCL2-T have had their tailcaps updated to be flared slightly and incorporate a lanyard with lanyard ring. Has anyone seen one of these models in the wild?

News article on Australian Flashlight collectors

Apparently we call non-flashlight people "Muggles"? https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-06-18/torch-nerds-obsessed-with-collecting-flashlights-international/101144940

    Found my Surefire 6P!

I have a tube on Nyogel 760g for threads and a tube of Nyogel 7797Z for the O rings. I got them from Oveready back in the days when they stocked it about 10 years ago. Still got plenty left.

    Stranger things light.

I guess it's kind of cool but it would've been better if they made it incandescent instead of a cheap LED

    Surefire

Yep but what can you do? It's not uncommon for Surefire to release lights later than expected or in some cases not at all. Remember the LX1?

    SureFire EDC1-DFT and EDC2-DFT

I suspect they will be like that in more ways than just UI. I half suspect they won't see the light of day just like the LX1

    SureFire EDC1-DFT and EDC2-DFT

I'd be onto that but for the clicky switch it uses. I prefer the tactical 2 position tailcap switch the EDC1/2-DFT has.

    SureFire EDC1-DFT and EDC2-DFT

I'm an every day kind of guy and I prefer lights that have throw over flood. I EDC either an L1 or an EDCL1-T which both use the tactical 2 position tailcap switch, and I love it. The reason I like throwier lights like these is that I use my flaslight as a tool to either light up objects at a...

    The Forlorn and the Sublime

There’s a YouTube review from Marshall from going gear on the AZ2 where he explains his reason for loving Surefires if not flashlights was because of the AZ2. It is certainly an interesting light. E series head, P series tail cap - one of only 2 p series lights that had the tactical 2 position...

Bringing a 6P in to the 21st Century

With the Malkoff m61l you are looking at you can run 1 x 16650, 2 x 16340’s, or 2 x cr123a’s. If you get an a19 extender for it you can also run 3 x cr123a’s for extra runtime or 2 x AA’s. Note that when running on 1 x 16650 or 2 x AA’s the light drops out of regulation. Pretty versatile. I have...

    Show your nightstand flashlight!

The reason I have a nightstand flashlight is my wife would crack it every time I turned on the lamp to go to the toilet or to see what went bump in the night. That light starts on low mode, and is directional, so it doesn't wake her up, and the high mode is good enough to check on the bump in...
