    Best Flashlight for Throw?

Thank you very much for all of your suggestions. I can now do some research with the links you all provided. Have a great weekend.

    Best Flashlight for Throw?

While I appreciate your responses, perhaps I should note that I am not a modder and know absolutely nothing about electronics. I was looking for an off-the-shelf production light with extreme throw and under a C-note in price. I am not capable of taking a stainless steel tiki torch body...

    Best Flashlight for Throw?

I've got a number of Surefires and a couple of Fenix P2Ds but I'm looking for something different, either LED or Incan, that has extremely far throw. Even if it is M*G light 2 or 3 D cell sized, I need something that has very little to no sidespill and can throw a beam no bigger than a 3 foot...

    Lithium Batteries In Inova X1?

Mine fried at the 5 month mark using a lithium battery. I don't know if the battery was the contributing cause or not, but after Inova replaced my X1, I'm just going to use alkalines in it from now on.

    Burnt-out Inova X1; My half-baked theory...

My advice is to send it directly to Emissive Energy Corp. They sent me a new one in exactly one week. Why screw around with the middleman? Besides, they sent me a free belt holster with the new one.

    Burnt-out Inova X1; My half-baked theory...

My Inova X1 recently stopped working so I sent it back to the Emissive Energy Company. They replaced it in less than a week, no questions asked. I don't know diddly about electronics, so I would appreciate if you would evaluate my theory about what happened. I installed a Mini M**light aluminum...

Hmmm....the GL2 looks real interesting. Thanks for the suggestion.

    Speaking of hybrids....

Thanks again, Kabible. If it fits, that surely would be the answer. I'll check again for your post.

    Speaking of hybrids....

Thanks, JohnK. Great information. I appreciate it. I guess I'm looking for something that has three LEDs but also the incandescent power of the 6P for momentary visual incapacitation of the bad guys. I work in an institution where weapons are not allowed but relatively small flashlights are. I...

    Speaking of hybrids....

Thanks, Kabible. That's exactly the information I needed. I've actually got a 6Z that is several years old, a G2 Nitrolon and a Streamlight TT1L. I'm thinking about purchasing a TT2L for the higher incandescent output than the TT1L. It's curious that Streamlight claims a higher lumen output for...

    Speaking of hybrids....

Expanding on my question above, it seems to me that the three LEDs in the reflector of the TT 2L would not help the incandescent lamp. In other words, a smooth or unbroken reflector such as the Surefire 6P has should theoretically make it brighter, all other things being equal.

    Speaking of hybrids....

The Streamlight website indicates that the lumen output for the Twin Task 2L is 72 in incandescent mode. If this is true, it would be brighter than the Surefire 6P series with the P60 (standard; 65 lumens) lamp assembly. Do any of you have experience with these 2 lights? Is the TTL2 brighter in...

    Great Big LED?

Pardon my ignorance, but I know next to nothing about electronics and LEDs. I just bought an ARC AAA a couple of weeks ago and thought "Why doesn't somebody make an LED the size of a 3 cell incandescent flashlight bulb?" Is this beyond the current status of LED technology? Could LEDs be made...

    Infinity Task Light...3.6v lithium

Thank you for your excellent replies. I really appreciate them. Your responses answered my questions. I look forward to interacting with all of you in the future. I'm one of those people who believe you can't have too many flashlights. Thanks again.

    Infinity Task Light...3.6v lithium

I just registered and this is my first post. Glad to be here and pick your brains about LED lights. I have a couple of questions about my CMG Infinity Task Light. I read here recently that I can use a 3.6v lithium battery in my Infinity. Is this really true? What, if any damage might occur to...
