Are you an OFFICER who uses a FLASHLIGHT?

Re: Are you and OFFICER who uses a FLASHLIGHT? My highest priority in a light is reliability. I carry Malkoff MD2/M61/high low ring on my gun belt. I also carry a SF L7 on my belt. My pistol light is a SF X300 and I have a SF M2 with a tnvc drop in on my rifle. For LE type work he latest...

    Surefire 6P holster bezel down

I carried a 6P and/or a M2 for years bezel up on my gunbelt. Sun and rain were never an issue. Now I carry a Malkoff MD2 bezel up, no problems with the elements. Just sayin.

Three years of using the ** SureFire L1 ** – A short history

I've had my L1 cree for a few years now. I've carried as an EDC, back up for duty use and recently it has been in my wife's vehicle for emergency use. After reading this thread I might put it back in the EDC ratation. Good light!

LEO'S: How useful is strobe in the "real world"?

In my experience strobe is no more effective than bright light. I've only seen guys mess with annoying drunks with them. That's my short 10yrs of real world experience. When I'm looking to buy a light for duty use or off duty, strobe is the last thing on my mind. In fact, I usually avoid lights...

    Some thoughts regarding Surefire

Surefire lights are tools. My opinion here but, SF doesn't seem to care about the collector side of things. These lights are made for use. Looks and the newest/brightest emitters are not what dependable tools are about. Never cared about different color unmatching anodizing. With a few months of...

    Question about Surefire's Warranty

I've used SF CS several times for bad switches mostly. Anytime I'v called they either send out a new part or you send in the bad light. I've never given them a receipt or proof of purchase. I do register my SF lights when I get them though. Their warranty has always been no questions asked in my...

    E2DL Defender most satisfying as a duty light . . .

The E2DL is a great LE light. I carry one along with my MD2. I work nights and I use SF primaries with no problems. I use my lights alot (anyone working nights should know) and I definately don't change out my batteries before every shift. Do some guys really practice this? I probably change out...

    The SureFire AZ2 Thread

The AZ2 switch to me is the exact same as the LX2. I didn't sit down and compare them side by side but I have used both. The hot spot on high is very concentrated. The low is pure flood with no hot spot at all and has a blueish tint. It's nice for low light situations when you don't want a...

    Help a Surefire newbie?

Good choice on the 6PL. It will serve you very well and there are so many upgrades for it. Don't give up on the Malkfoff dropin. I would imagine there might be another round of M61's in our near future. If you can get your hands on one grab it. Doesn't hurt to call Malkoff either.

    The SureFire AZ2 Thread

Re: Surefire AZ2 now on Surefire website The AZ2 does have the same lanyard attachment as the LX2. My partner at work has had his for about 2 weeks now. It's a nice light. The tailcap is also very similar to the LX2. It's a twisty tail cap...slight push for low, push harder for high.

    Help a Surefire newbie?

Good luck in your selection of duty light. The above advice is good regarding the different options. If I were you, I would go with the 6PL. Great basic light and a little sturdier than the the G2 series lights. As far as the Malkoff dropins are concerned. They are top notch. I have a 6P with a...

    Surefire P60L performance, disappointing?

I keep em around for backups. I still run a P60, in my weapon light for my rifle, so I keep a couple P60's and P60L's around for back ups. They aren't the brightest there is but they get the job done and are reliable. As far as indoor CQB you don't need much brighter than the P60L.

    E2DL lockout tailcap problem

I've been carrying an E2DL for some time and never had an accidental activation with the shrouded tail cap. Don't really see a reason to lock it out.

How tough are your EDC torches - post your experiences

I have an NDI (bought from TAD Gear first run) that is actually reliable. This thing has been dropped so many times but it just keeps going. I just recently put it through a wash cycle (accident) and it came out working fine.

    Surefire LX2 (Part 3)

Anyone having problems with their LX2 clip? They suck! Broke my first one after week or two of carrying the light. As usual, Surefire quickly sent me a new clip and it's good as new. I also got a new clip for my M2. I recently put my M2 back on my rifle so I don't need the clip. The M2 clip is...

new member.. heres my starter collection

That was funny! I agree though...especially about the "tactical" lights. Tacticool gets thrown around so much it's annoying. There are lights for EDC and there are lights for social work. There are lights that fall somewhere in between. It is fun to see who needs the biggest, brightest, baddest...

Hi, just recieved my first surefire - WOW

    Been a SF whore for about 10 years. M2, L7, L1 cree, LX2, E2DL, x300, 6PL (Malkoff M61). There have been more but I sold a few...had a 8AX, L5, G2L. Surefire lights are working lights...tools. My only lights that aren't SF are a Malkoff MD2 (kicks ***!) and a Nitecore DI (mine actually works well).

Best 'tactical' body & batteries for M61 drop-in?

Not sure what the best is but I carry a Malkoff MD2 (pocket clip on the way from Malkoff) for EDC and I have another M61 in a 6P for work. I was using my SF M2 but I put it on my rifle. The 6P is slightly smaller than the M2.
