1 D or 1 C cell light?

Hi folks,
Does anyone know of a 'stock' flashlight that operates on 1 D or 1 C cell battery? I've been having a look around but I cant seem to find one - anyone?

In the past I've seen a 1 * D "US Government" heavy duty plastic area light with no reflector and a clear bezel allowing a 180 degree beam. I've not seen one lately, although I've looked for them because of my 3AA NiMH packs and my 3 V 7500 mAh Lithium D cells.

Please advise if you find anything.

There are a couple that can be used as such. The Dorcy Cool Blue Aluminum is a 4 cell light with a PR based LED lamp. It uses 4 AA cells in a holder that is of the same approximate size as a D cell. Remove the holder, drop in a D cell and put a proper lamp in it for 1.5 volts and you'll have a 1 D cell flashlight. The other is a Dorcy plastic 4 cell flashlight. I think they call them Dorcy "Frost Brights". They are translucent fluorescent colored, with the same 4 cell battery holder arrangement. Just replace the holder with a D cell and use a suitable lamp.

Kel-Lite's flashlight was actually designed to run on two 1/2D batteries. As far as I know that size doesn't exist any more in non-rechargable cells.

BTW - this light is identical to the Dorcy Cool Blue mentioned by Empath in his post above. I have one of the Dorcy's that I picked up on-line. It can be modded, but I doubt that using 1 D cell will cut it. If you would like additional information feel free to PM me. KK

It's a 1D cell light built around the old Blaster Jr body. When the bodys are gone I don't think there will be any more.

• Same as above only with two Micropucks. Output: 1,800 lux with reduced runtime. Cost: $69.99.
