A co-worker of mine is looking for a new flashlight. His current set up uses a 1" mount. What do you guys use, recommend, or wish you had?

My choice would be a Surefire 6P with a Malkoff M60 dropin and an XM tailcap/pressure switch.

$6 Viking Tactics light mount, and a Lumapower D-Mini.

Perfect. Nothing at all wrong with your setup. Now go out and practice shooting a few rounds (say 100-500) to see if anything shakes loose. Buy some locktite just in case.

That light isn't going anywhere. It's so tight in that mount *without* the set screws!

I do wonder if the LED will survive. That is the real test.

$6.00 for a Viking Tactics mount? where????!!!!! that's an amazing price. the metal mount?

The malkoff has a nicer beam but the BOG throws further. Indoors for the malkoff, BOG beyond 100-150 feet. A9 for real distance (175+ yards.)

The LumaPower D-Mini Dobbler posted is a nice choice. Also, any 1' Surefire could be a good choice and I'd also take a hard look at a 2008 Inova T1 or T3.
