123\'s for under a buck!

While checking out my local Wal*Mart's clearance isle I found some Energizer 223's for 2.00 each. I wondered if 223=2x123? So I bought the three they had left. When I got home I pried the plastic cap off of one end and low and behold...two naked 123's came out. Wow! What a deal! My Ls1 and my E2e are very happy with them. Now I would guess if one had an application such as an X5 with the reversed battery installation a little tape to insulate the the battery case,you would have a pair 123's to feed it.
I don't know if this has been posted before but I thought I would share my good fortune. So all of you with Wal*Marts in your area, check it out.

duracell 223's for $1.00 each in quantities of 100 and $75 each in quantities of 1000+
They have 2 duracell 123 cells in them.
batterystation.com has heatshrink that will work with these batteries very well as the heatshrink is thinner then all other thin wall tubing that i've seen.

I wish my wife would let me spend that much $$ on food for my lights. Since Christmas is getting close...I have been informed that ALL lights are now on a strict diet. (but maybe 2 or 3 months down the road..hmmm.........)

The cheapbatteries.com ones are good only if you're gonna use them within the next year. They were made in early 1995 I think. I still have a bunch around and they work great with LED lights that don't suck current like the incandescents do.
