12VDC Compact Fluorescents
Just got the latest catalog from "real goods" and they have 12 Vold CF "spring" bubs for fairly reasonable prices, 12V, 15W for $12 ea, and 12V, 23W for $16 ea.
These would be good for camping, remote cabins, power outages, etc, and maybe to retrofit an old keroscene lantern.

the 15W is 880 lumens, the 23 watt, 1380 lumens.
They also carry (overpriced) LED lighting.
