1500 metesr 4000 lm

hello, im new 2 this forum ;)
btw im from Norway, so please dont comment about my bad spelling. im not so good in English.


i have been looking around for a new light. i have been looking in this forum for shops that deal lights but i cannot find anything that i would by. my last light was a HID 3500 lm ( or so they say ) it throw the beam for over 1000 meters. (1099 yards )
what im looking 4, is a light that have moore then 4000 lumen, throw the beam over 1700 yards. high- low modus. and strobe mod.
the shap : somthing like a maglighte. it can be bigger.
led or HID ?

Dear kattwomman,

my personal favourite is the Fire-Foxes FF3 HID flashlight. Although it`s relatively small in size (149x49x70mm) it gives an absolute impressive performance. Mind you, there are heaps of good quality flashlights out there and hopefully you`ll find yours.

Welcome to CPF! What HID light do you have at the moment? I can't think of many that would throw 1700 yards...?

The only non-custom light I can think of that throws that far would be a Maxabeam, but it isn't 4000 lumens. The only thing I can think of that would throw that far, give off anywhere near 4000 lumens, and be the size of a maglite would be some sort of highly customised short arc...I can't think of any I've seen on here quite like that!

High-low mode and strobe takes things to another level of complexity!

I'm sorry I can't be of more help, I'm letting you know that you've asked for something pretty crazy by todays standards!

Hey kattwoman,

I would highly reccommend the next VaraPower Turbo 3, when it goes for sale in one week. They are built to order usually finished by the end of the month. Just look at lambdalights dot com website. With this light you will need 4 Tenergy C cells and a charger. This is the most powerful LED thrower in terms of lumens and throw. The Firefox ff3, mentioned, is probably the best value in an HID. With that light you will need high quality lithium cells and a charger and to educate yourself on their safe use.
