Greetings Everyone

I did some searching but came up empty.

Anyone make 2S and/or 4S 18650 holders that work in dual bored 1D and 2D Mags?

Really? Well that is a real bummer.

I have been considering a couple of mods using 2 or 4 series 18650 cells in dual bored Mag D hosts. But I can't seem to come up with a clever way to put the cells in series, and be able to easily remove them from the flashlight for charging.

So what do you guys do that run several 18650 cells in dual bored 18650 mods?

You can dual bore a mag to accept 2 18650's, but a holder would really be out of the question since considerable boring is needed to make them fit. Fivemega sells them already complete here. However these are in parallel.

Thanks for the link. Yeah, I did the measurements and realized that the dual bore to accommodate two 18650s is pretty extreme with respect to the amount of material that needs to be removed.

So I have to ask, how do you guys who run multiple 18650s in series do it and still make charging convenient?

PVC pipe. 1" & 3/4" at hardware store. Look for 3/4" stuff that slips inside the 1". Simple, rugged and cheap.... I add a bit of elec. tape to hold the pipe in the body tube, batteries just slip into the 3/4" w/o any shimming. Cut down M@G endcap spring w/ low resistance wire added. Simple.

I run 18650's in some of my mags. They are not dual bored or anything like that. I use PVC pipe. I can fit 1x18650 in a 1D, 2x18650 in a 2D and 3x 18650 in a 3D. All with a custom pvc sleeve.
 
i might suggest looking into D li-ions , they are sooo sweet for the capacity, not nessarily for high current.
it is one great way to use the D sized holes already there and get big capacity in them.
 
being able to hold 4x would be awesome cause you can then really run some high amps into them.

look into fm elephant bodies, they do what you are asking
 
not that hard to make your own, i build one,

now i'm in process of building one with 2 psbs build in, one for each 3s bank.

i respectfully disagree, i have 4 32650 (D) li ion, they are about 4ah, (don't mind that they say 5ah.
2x18650 paralleled will give you more, for less $$$. and less weight. thou cost of borring out will pbly even price factor out.
those 4 d li ions are last once i bought (the ones that kd sells anyway) i,ve heard other brands make d li ions, but they are like $50 each, and about 6-7ah.

I did a mod with a dual bored mag running two 18650 in series. with a piece of round plastic (for insulance) and some copper to connect + and - from both batteries; this was put on top of the spring to give some preassure.
Now I'm not at home, later I'll post a photo for better understanding.
 
The D Li-ions I have seen are in the 15 dollar apiece range. From what I am reading, they have a pretty significant storage ability and can push some serious power.

4mm steel rod
1\4in plastic, don't know what kind of plastic it is exactly, just used what i had.
top and bottom contact plates ( took apart cheap d cell)
springs from radio shack holder.
nuts and bolts.
piece of rubber hose.
-tools
dremel,
1 1\2in hole saw.
epoxy.

the hole saw gives you a disc of correct size to fit in d tube, the rest is pretty simple, just look at the pics, everything is visible.
