I purchased a Lightforce 240 Blitz with the dimmer switch on the rear to control the brightness of the lamp. It comes in very handy when using a pack to walkabout, not on brightest level all the time. Battery time is extended greatly.

My problem is, as of yesterday this dimmer decided to give up on me. I have stripped the lamp down and re tested everything just to make sure it was not a bad connection. It lights up with no difference in brightness reduction when I twist the dimmer switch.
This dimmer looks mighty impressive when you see it out of the casing. I will try get a picture uploaded to let you guys have a look at it.
The
dimmer only comes as an option from one company in the UK.

Is there any you board building techs in the UK or anywhere come to that, that could look at this and test it for repair or even rebuild me 2-3 similar dimmers to suit my lamps.

There is no option to buy this as a replacement part. I would have to buy a new lamp to get the dimmer option. I already have four maybe five lightforce lamps. I would rather buy a new dimmer than get a sixth lamp. This is the only one that I own that has the dimmer facility and it also is my favourite.

They may even be something out there that some of you are familiar with that could be a new replacement part that will do the same job.

I would really appreciate any input on my above problem.
