26500 4D Mag-lite?

I've got a 4D Mag-Lite lying around at home and I'm looking at my options for turning it into a bump-in-the-night light/bludgeon. I know I want to swap out the endcap and bezel, but what are my battery options? Could 4x26500 cells possibly fit in there with some kind of insert? And if so, what drop-in would be best?
