26mm reflector for MC-E

Hi there,

i need a refelctor for my diy-mce-light with 26mm diameter.
i tried cutting the surefire p60 dropin and i trimed a fraen 35mm reflector
but i'm still not happy with the beam.

i had no problems with the ledil boom, but they are only 19mm ones.

can anybody help me?

Are you making a P60 drop in?

Or a complete custom light with custom heat sink? If you are, a MCR27L or MCR27xr may work for you. You can decrease the outside diameter easily to 26mm since they are 27mm. I have done a few custom surefires this way. the vertex opening in these two suit the size of the MCE pretty closely. It would be direct drive so if you dont want that then don't go this route.

If not you can get an MCE P60 size reflector and pill/heatsink from dealxtreme.

I will make a custom heatsink for my surefire host.
I just find the MCR27L i hope i manage to focus it.
It looks like i can trim the diameter by lathe.

But i didn't understand this sentence:

It would be direct drive so if you dont want that then don't go this route..

If you use the MCR27L your heatsink will be short and there will be no room for an electronic board in the heatsink.

And yes you can trim the MCR family of reflectors pretty easily on the lathe.

Okay, that' not what i want.
The McR-27 would fit, put it would not work with an mc-e?

I wondern what problem this seems to be.

If you want to use a driver board then your best choice will be an empty P60 from DX or Kai.

a little netter will be an XPG dropin reflector with the emitter hole reamed up

I hear you...What you are looking for is hard to find. I dont have the light I built anymore or I would take some pictures...sorry.

I have some parts here, let me see what I can do to mock up something and show you what I mean.

You will not be able to get a really good reflector and have a driver board too. You will either have a board and a horrible reflector or a good reflector and no electronics.
