2d ROP batery life

Hey guys I am new here and have thoroughly read the forums for all info regarding the ROP build in a 2d mag. My question that I havent been to find an answer to is if I use 6aa to 2d in my mag, what kind of runtime am I looking at for both the high and low bulb. I would guess that any 2700mah Ni-Mh would be good for the project, but I would like to get the most out of them that I can.

Actually, it would be better to use Eneloop or any other low self discharge NiMH batteries. Even if they have a capacity of 2100 mAh or less, their internal resistance is much lower. It will give you a much whiter light and they will last almost as long as standard NiMH batteries. The other benefit is that their shelf life is much, much, much better than higher capacity NiMH batteries. You will actually get light if you keep the flashlight on the shelf for 3 months and turn it on! With 6 NiMH, you can expect a runtime around 20-30 minutes.
 
Ok so if I use the sanyo's the runtime would me 20-30 on high or low? For most circumstances the low bulb putting out like 400-500 lumens at like 40 minutes would be plenty. I would prolly use the high for wow factors and crap like that lol. O and I was wondering would the pelican 3854 poof with freshly charged 7.2 volt nimh? Cause I heard that there was a slightly higher voltage pelican light.
 
Hi Mike,

Yes, ~25 minutes give or take depending on which cells you choose for the high bulb.

45-60+ minutes on the low bulb, again, depending on which cells are used.
