I'm also an HDS owner, and the mid-size light equivalent of HDS in terms of quality and ruggedness and performance is Malkoff.
All this fancy titanium and polishing, etc, is all fine and good, but it's extraneous and expensive for no real good reason.
You can get Malkoff drop-in modules in cool, warm, neutral, Hi Cri, XML, XPG, XPG2, Nichia 119, triples, high output, low output, big head, small head, throwy, floody, 2-cell, 3-cell, 4-cell, AA, whatever.
Pick what you want.
They are no-nonsense precision lighting instruments at moderate but reasonable prices, made in USA, and the quality cannot be beat.
