As a non-american I have to say I do find stories like this a bit bizarre. Hardly anybody here has guns and yet we still have a lower murder rate and a much lower proportion of our population in jail etc, and you don't feel like you need to walk around with a gun to protect yourself... I know which one I'd take. I'm not trying to make fun, I'm just saying its just weird looking in from the outside at a culture that is similar in many ways to ours ... yet so different.
