A very dark world.
I know this has probably been covered before, but does anyone know of any 3 volt AA batteries?
(I did find the thread about the $12 each RS offering.)

TIA

If you crack open a CRV3 battery, you will get 2 lithium 3V AA sized battery.

just check other postings, I have heard that a few of the CRV-3 packs just had 2 1.5AA Li's in them. Not sure which brand it was. I got mine from Menards and it HAD the 2 3v cells.

I was going to get the CRV-3 and it was clearly wired in series, you could tell from the outside, glad to hear you can in-fact get 3V AAs.. i 'resorted' to getting some rechargeable.. fortunately my driver can take up to 4.5.. means I get 1.9W output in my CMG mod vs 1.5 i'd get with the 3.. but no protection ckt so i have to be careful not to over discharge.

I believe that Energizer is the only major brand that uses the 1.7 Volt AA's.

That is because they have an exclusive patent on the 1.7V AA.

Sove of the cheaper brands might be re-baged energizers so watch out for that.

Yesterday,

I got a CRV3 Cell from Sanyo & another one from Duracell (Ultra) ....

They both were costing same, about $12 here locally.

When I opend up the packages, they had 2 "AA" Sized cells....

I used one of the "AA" cell in modifying another Flashlight ... and it works great. These (CRV3) cells are indeed 2 3V "AA" Cells wired in parallel.

I do not know about other brands. as they are not available here locally...

Thanks & Regards,
