The crazy guy next door
I'm building a 3 watt Mag mod to use as my main flashlight, replacing a Mag and an Everled. I'm really having trouble finding a driver...there's just so many..... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

So, what are my options? Batteries aren't figured out yet, but it will be rechargeable. Is there a list somewhere of all the different drivers? I remember reading about one with variable brightness levels a while ago...what's that called?

Off the top of my head, the following comes to mind... uFlex, nFlex, Badboy and Downboy.

Both of the 'Flex brothers have different brightness levels. Talk to CPF member Georges80 about those, or visit his website.

How many cells? the fat boy is an awsome driver for the bigger mags can be dimmed with a pot or set and left the nflex is also a fine driver needs more cells then the fatboy but is very useable.

It will be in a 3D mag, I don't know what batteries yet, it kind of depends on the driver. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Could be 3 NiMh, could be 6 1/2 Ds, could be lithium ion....

To drive your LuxIII Luxeon...

For 3 x NiMh, use the Fatman driver.
For 6 x 1/2 D's, use the nFlex or CC5W or CC3W.
For 1 x Li-ion (pila 168S/A), you can direct drive
