the 10wat version is as a good as if not better unfocused and unlensed than a 60 watt low energy household light bulb in a room.

Buy it from BridgeLux so you at least know what you're getting. It sounds like they are mixing and matching different product specifications at whim. The trouble with these ultrasmall LEDs in home lighting is the need for cooling. You're stuck with a fan, or a big lump of metal. Both have problems. I've had much better luck with smaller, more-distributed lighting units to spread the need for cooling. It also makes friendlier output patterns.

i know what you mean about the specs, i was told by one place it was a 85-240v.. 10 volts was enough lolol...hmmm?
i'm finding as with most led stuff to back off a touch with the power and the heat problems half. like with the little one wat stuff, full power it wow! that singes, touch back a bit with the amps and you can touch them bare fingered..only 5-10 percent.(less light..obviously but getting that least bit of full bright seems the problem)
and i was thinking to use it as a torch at some time, think i payed 8 dollers with postage for the 30wat, and 2 quid for a 10wat that is warm white,3200k range, its very gentle to the eye at that, maybe not a good reading light though, unless closer to it, no serious white blaire back from it.
