The idea for this came from here. Many thanks to that member for his detailed description and pictures. I chose the 5 r2 module because of it's lack of modes and frankly I don't know the difference between a r2 and a q5 anyways. It required a little machine work on the lathe to get it to fit just right but nothing to serious. The batteries I had left over from my rc car days and the rest was stuff I had in the garage. Run time is about and hour.

5 Gp Nimh cells a piece of plastic pipe. The fifth cell sits in the tail cap so it was de-anodized and a bush league spring ( I wasn't committed enough to cut the mag spring) takes up the extra space and keeps thing tight.
 
Nice job Gtamazing. I've made two of these and they do put out a good amount of light. One is in a 2D cell mag, the other in a WF-500 host (Drops right in). It was handy you had those cells laying around and were able to put them to good use!
