I'm looking for an LED flashlight that is under $200 and has a form factor similar to an old 3D or 4D Maglite. It doesn't have to (but can) use actual D batteries; this might be a plus because they're cheap and easy to find. How you feel about rechargeable D batteries?

EagleTac SX25L2 or EagleTac MX25L2 , formfactor old school but no D size batteries , otherwise purchase a Maglite 3/4 D or C cell with a Malkoff XPG2 or XML2 and you can use D or C cell NiMh or Alkaleaks!

Thanks. Making sure I understand, you're saying to buy a Maglite and then get a buy a separate dropin from Malkoff?

Ok, that's awesome! I'll probably get something from him.
I have Three of Jay's builds and a stubby on the way, I prefer the single cell as they are handy but 2 x 32650 cells, will give the Energizer Bunny a run.
