4+ questions from newbie

Just received my shinny new 4+ (second) this afternoon. This is my first led flashlight so I don't really have anything to compare it to. It is bright I'll give you that.
-Any ideas on how I might evaluate the brightness before my 15 day trial period is up? Don't have a light meter /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
-In other models of the LS line there is some discussion about types of lens. NX05 and the like. My 4+ has a reflector instead. Is this normal? Peering into the buisness end looks a bit like a mini-mag. (unlit of course)

First, let me assure you that there should be no optics in your 4+, second or no second. The reflector, the flat lens, and the thin, removable layer of vinyl (think clear round vinyl cling-thing)on the outside of the lens is all you're supposed to see. This is as designed.
Second, since I don't possess a light meter, either, I can only suggest that you use it while walking around your neighborhood (or maybe someone else's, I don't know which would work better) after dark, and see if it meets your needs.
I know I immediately made mine an EDC (every day carry) light once I finally got one in my impatient hands. Good luck with yours, and welcome to the nuthouse... er, I mean clubhouse!
