Just lost my arc aaa! What is currently the most wicked single aaa replacement. MUST be waterproof, ultra durable and preferably American made for keychain carry and clip for cap wear. Price = any.

Lots of options, of course, but I would suggest Muyshondt Mako (out-of-production), McGizmo Sapphire (custom order), or Peak Eiger (available now). The Eiger is available in aluminum, brass, stainless steel, or titanium, as well....

Don't worry about 'American made' just get the Fenix E01 it's one of the most rugged lights ever!

Check out the 4Sevens website and look at the Preon I lights. There are some really good deals right now, and there's a titanium version for $44. The only vulnerability (compared to the arc or E01) would be the glass lens, but I imagine that in normal circumstances it wouldn't be an issue.

By four years later, I mean that I have been happy with the ARC....just want to catch up and validate my new replacement. Even if it is another ARC AAA.

I love my Peak Eiger. At first I thought the lack of clip was a dealbreaker until i discovered the Tec suspension clip. Great edc combo... fyi i recommend the "lug" body option for keychain or suspension clip carry.

I would go for the E01 but, you can always get another Arc AAA & be happy. The Arc is a good light & tough like the E01. I still have my Arc & love it..!

I agree i might also add:

Expensive, ridiculously durable the stainless steel model should be tougher than any Aluminum AAA light also will not scratch as easy as Aluminum HA, QTC model goes from ridiculously low to ridiculously high (200+ lumens), and good looking: Peak Eiger


The Eiger should be a little bit lower than twice the price of your ARC AAA, but the stainless steel model is more than worth it, also should mention that the beam and tint are really good and the electronics are potted which should make for a more impact resistant light and better heat transfer.

theres the option for a clip coming up from Oveready and also i have used my ARC AAA clip on my Eiger and it works for cap use, but the Oveready option seems more reliable and nicer.

the McGizmo Sapphire seems to be a great AAA light, and i imagine you can also adapt the ARC AAA clip to it too, but lacks in output compared to the Eiger, however its made of Ti which could interest you.

Ok, I have ordered the peak eiger stainless lug in #8 medium. What is the waterproof situation here? Other than that question it is US made and seems to be the favorite based on above comments. Any other options to consider? If you have, please include link to order.

jdawz, by your description it seems you ordered directly from Peak Led Solutions homepage, they dont manage orders like they used to, now they have 2 distributors which also handle the latest models which arent featured on the old Peak webpage.

The distributors are Oveready and RMSK, Oveready has a great fast service, good shipping prices and the packaging is really good; i havent had any experience with RMSK because they dont ship international.

i recommend this:

Peak Eiger QTC AAA body stainless steel

depending on the lenght you want to carry here goes from shortest to longest:
pocket body (no keychain connection point)
lug body (keychain hole and ring)
Long body (can handle keyring attachment and momentary switch options) this one is also the easiest to mantain but longer than the other 2
