Hi,

i looked around the forum search for a while but didn´t found a tutorial regarding the modding of 4D´s with 5W Luxeons. Does anybody have a source for something like that ?

Thanks,
Stefan

Hi Crash, 4D IMHO, is a little uncommon for most of the mods but still it's not a big problem. You'll need a heatsink like the Hotlips or o-sink (search for them, lot's of infos here), a boost converter of your choice, and a decent lux5 emitter. Have a look on the binning charts that explain brightness-, colour tint-, and voltage- bin codes (perferably an x-bin for brightness and tell us when you've found them /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif).
Also look at some other threads about mag-modding to find out what to do with the switch. I think mrBulk's space needle tutorial will help a lot, although it doesn't explain exactly the same mod. It's still a d-sized mag and a 5watter.
You should also consider using a 3Watt lux as it will give you more throw (but less overall light) at reduced cost. You see, still a lot of reading to go through.

Chrisse

Edit: space needle tutorial
By the way, the "homemade and modifed ligths" forum would be more appropriate for your question than this one.

Hi Chrisse,

thanks for the input. Man, looks like a lot of research to do here.
Sorry for using the wrong forum, will happen no more!
