4sevens Maelstrom Pics

Bits and bobs of other torches in there, I see one a bit like a fenix TK11 and the body of another looks suspiciously like a SF M6!

They're probably great, but I am getting bored with all torches cribbing off each other like nobody has any original thoughts or designs any more!

It makes me appreciate original stuff like the Icon series, McGizmo, Peak and Lummi.

But hey, who am I to underappreciate the work of another? :tinfoil:
 
Looks like that's a updated brochure for the Maelstrom. Those who went to SHOT got to see and play with the prototypes. Real excited to see what the final design is and when I can buy one. :paypal:
 
I wonder what happened to the MCE light that was going to be in a similar body to the G5 (fka G500)? I think it was called the M500.

That, of course, was the subject of the multi hundred of posts thread that has been running for many many months. The M500 was in the older photos.

These photos look great in any case.
 
^^^yeah its seems like they could just use two
XP-Gs like the "linger special" or something for a flood
light like the M500 was gonna be.

Or an SST-50 (beautiful beam!!)

OOOOOORRRR (endless speculation:devil:) the new
Cree XM if thats truly close to being released.

Im curious as to how throw oriented the G5 will be
since that seems to be the new trait people are seeking
(around here at least)

the S1200 is the one Im most interested in still
and a possible headlamp...

The G5 throws like a beast. We were playing with it on the hotel balcony over 20 stories up shining light down into the reasonably well-lit parking lot.
 
I believe a flashlight is a tube that light comes out one end of. I am more interested in origional design of led-reflector, and battery and ui. If it looks nice on the outside, that is cool too, but usually when I use a light...it is pretty dark out and no one notices the handle.
 
I am waiting with interest on the specifications of the new Maelstroms.
G5 looks like Quark Turbo but S12 and S18 are different. At least S18 has a much wider tube. Will 4Sevens finally release a 4AA light? :rolleyes:

Not surprising. I guess MC-E's time in the sun has come and gone.

Any idea when the S12 may be ready. The G5 is too much like some of my other lights and the S18 is too big for me. The S12 may just be what I need next...
 
I'm looking forward to that S12, too...

Eh, who am I kidding. I'm looking forward to the S18 and G5, too. The G5 looks like it would be a great addition to the TK11 / 6P I have for the 2xCR123 category.
