4Sevens Quark, Tactical or Regular?

It might be for practical or personal reasons why people choose the Tactical or Regular versions of their Quarks. Why not share how you guys prefer or choose between the 2 to better suit the situations or work you're involved in?

This might also benefit those who're making decisions in purchasing the right light for them.

I chosed the regular because the tactical seemed to be quite complicated to adjust the different brightness levels. Also regular is possible to stand like a candle.

Tactical. Turbo isn`t needed that often in the real world...for me anyway. Hi does what I want and gives great batt life. The other level used most by me is medium.

So my thoughts are just leave it in hi all they time.

Loosen head for medium.

I like the regular too...but have found that after a while it`s a pain to bump through the lower levels to get to the most used level (high). Waste of my thumb power. Yea, I`m lazy :o.

And if you get trigger happy and shoot past hi...you find yourself having to cycle past the blinky stuff and back through the lower levels :sick2:.

Oh, and for $10 buy a regular tail cap for tail standing...for when a romantic mood setting moon mode is needed...:devil: (yea, right) :(

Since I'm not using my flashlight for anything tactical in nature I like the regular version. For an EDC light to be used as a utility light I have plenty of time to select the output I need.

I usually have the bezel loose so the light comes on in moon mode. Usually when I turn it on it's dark, so it won't disrupt my night adapted eyes. If more light is needed I can quickly tap, tap, etc., to get the desired amount of light. It's plenty bright on high that I usually don't need the max mode. I have the 1x123 Quark running an AW R123.

If I'm out for a walk at night I may tighten the bezel so it's ready to come on at full power if I need to light something up at a distance, etc. I'd also have another light on me set up to come on in a low mode. :P

I've been thinking about putting a tactical tail cap on my Quark just to make it easier to operate, but I like to keep the tail stand option. However I may order a tactical tailcap so I have the option as it would be easy to swap between the regular and tactical cap.

I have pre-ordered a Quark Titanium 2x123 in the regular mode. Can't wait. :)

Hope you like it. It's a cool little light. :) The moon mode is awesome, and wait until you see how well it throws on MAX for such a little light. :)

I have the regulat too...but also bought the tactical tail...great setup!

I´ve got a Ti 123 regular on order but I also want a Ti AA body and a Ti tac tail. Hope it can happen.

I'm going with regular because of the protection it offers the cap and switch from damage or accidental on. Nice that we can order both though.

I purchased the regular versions.For EDC I like the recessed switch and the reverse clicky works well with the multiple modes.There are times when the multiple modes are a nuisance and I would like just a couple modes but the benefits of the regular have won out for now.If Nitecore comes out with a warm emitter EX10 I will have a hard time choosing between it and the Quark 123.
