4xAA to D Question

I asked this question in another post but got no response,this may be a more appropriate place for it.
I'm looking to use these 4xAA to D adapters:
Aventrade
How would 3 of these in a Mag with Lux3 vf of J and DB833 work? What kind of regulated runtime could I expect?

First of all those adapters appear to put the batteries in parallel, not in series, so you'd have just 4.5 volts with fresh batteries and below 3 volts when the batteries are pooped. Second, four AA's don't really fit in a D space, so getting that thing into the Mag may be marginal (Mags vary a little). You're better off with Elektrolumens v2 3aa to D adapters.

4 AA just about fit in a D space. But in a Mag, where tolerances are very close, there are actually some brands of batteries and some capacities of rechargeable AA that are just that little bit too big to fit. It is a very close call as to whether it will fit. Of course you could always get your Mag bored out a little, or select cells that will fit.

The other thing, as pointed out by PaulR, is that the Aventrade stuff hooks up the AA cells in parallel for 1.5V output. You will have to figure out a way to wire them up in series (which is possible but difficult because of the tight space restrictions) if you want to use it with the DB.
