5 \"C\" 4500mAH NiMHs + 1 GH24 = InstaFlash???

On their website this bulb is rated at 6v. What I’d like to do is drop 5 4500mAH NiMH ‘s in my 4D M@g which coming fresh off the charger would be over 7v. Can these Halogen Bulbs be pushed a bit? I would cut down some 1" PVC and use as a sleeve to accomodate the "C" Cells.

Would the beam be noticeably brighter than a stock M@g Bulb?

Well I run it with 3 3volt 123's without problem. Even accounting for voltage drop it should be fine, hang on a minute, I have a frosted one, let me throw 5 1/2D's at it and see what happens.

Looks GOOD, not quite as bright initially as 3x123 but easily 3 times brighter than stock mag!

Will not be a problem. I have done this exact same thing. If you look at GH24 specs on web site it says, in effect, that GH24 is for 5 or 6 rechargeable cells. Not exact wording. I use 6AA NimH's to run mine in a 2D mag with EL 3toD's.
