I worked for GSI LUMO in field service for 2 years. I am sure thay will sell you one, My guess would be 120-175K. NOT cheap, used in marking and specialty micro welding.

Some colleagues of mine have 2 60w DPSS lasers. They do require water cooling and with all the ancillary equipment take up a lot of space. They are used outdoors extensively during the festival season. They look very impressive at about 2 miles away.

how much do they cost???? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Think the Laser Quantum 5W dpss is actually reasonably priced, for what it is, about the price of a mid range family saloon car.

You get the power by using Laser Diode bars and focussing all the energy into the frequency doubling crystal, the trick is in the optics because the output of the diodes is in a line and you need a nice focussed spot.

Bigger greens use arc lamp pumping rather than diode pumping, as luck would have it there`s a nice low hours 40W Laserscope on eBay:

The 100W quoted is for 1064 Infra Red output. With a bit of tweaking believe some of them can get up to 60W of green.

Bit more complex than a laser pointer though:
