5000k H3 100w bulbs

Hi, i was wondering if anyone could tell where i could get good H3 100w bulbs out there with a color temp of approx 5000k. There are so many manufacturers and im lost as to what is of good quality. I plan to stick these in a banana vector. Thanks.

PIAA sells some good bulbs. You must note that the 5000K lamps have much lower output than the 3800-4000k lamps though. The light may be "whiter" but there is less of it as the whiteness is achieved by removing (absorbing) some of the yellow/red light of the light from the incandescent filament. Tailored Lighting claims 8200 Cd for their 10 degree beam MR16 lamps in 4100K and 6200 Cd for a 4700K version with the same beam angle.

Halogens just don't get that hot-er, without cutting back output. Wearing light blues sunglasses would create the same effect.

i was thinkin about 4000k too, how white is 4000k in terms of the current luxeon binning structure.

Look HERE for 100 watt H3.

4000K in Luxeon terms would be ugliest of puke green in color. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif
