I make quicky colored filters for some of my lights using colored gel sheets from Samy's Camera here in LA. They have an almost unlimited selection of colors, and one sheet of the stuff will last almost a lifetime. I simply use double stick tape to apply a circle of the gel to the light lens. It'll stay there for a good long while, or peel right off and you can re-use it later. This method eats up some light output that a colored LED does not.
