6° reflector for LS

(I don't know what we foreigners would have to pay). So at least €24.60 (~$23) for one piece (for a first test) seems quite a bit crazy to me ....

Can you now imagine how we Europeans feel trying to order parts from the USA? US companies want us to charge up to $30 only for S+H ....

I am also a company, Elektro Lumens, with a business license and resale number in the State of California, USA. Does that mean I can get them at a reasonable cost? I would email them, but the link will not work for me, and also, I wonder if they would speak English? I can try emailing them from my home computer, if the link will work there.

Don, I smell group buy too! You should do one, if for no other reason then just to find out why most who've handled one will never do another!

If you decide to graciously "help us out" on this (yeah, I know your job duties have shifted gears but hey -- you're still hanging around!), then I'm in for several depending on price (or just one if it's going to stay at $24...).

If this works out, somebody else can work out all the group buy details, and I can make the purchase, and send the product to the group buy person, who can then distribute them. I have too many irons in the fire right now to handle a third group buy. Anyway, let's not jump the gun, but wait until we find out if I can get a good deal or not.

It would be stupid if I would do this group buy as I had to import those reflectors and then also had to pay VAT (and maybe some other taxes too) just to export the same stuff the same day ....

I have some news as I've got samples of this reflector:

Its diameter is 30.5mm and its height 28mm. To me it seems it is a combination of an acrylic collimator and a reflector.

Ok, and here my very first beam shots I've ever made in my life:

These beam shots are taken with a LS HD. The left beam is the one from the collimator, the right pic shows the one from this 6° reflector mounted on the same LS. The distance from the LS to the wall was 50cm. The different colors must be caused by the camera as in reality a difference of the color is almost unvisible.

In exactly 1m distance I measured 421 Lux with the collimator and 603 Lux with the reflector. A short test outside the house shows that the reflector's beam really throws much farther.

Ok, the bad news are: The reflector has not such a smooth beam as the first picture lets believe you:

And the good thing is: At a distance of a few meters these rings are no longer disturbing as they then are almost invisible.
 
When I got my Badboys from dat2zip, I put one in a mini Mag and the other in a Brinkmann Legend 2aa. I found the Brinkmann was a tad brighter than the mini Mag regardless of which Badboy I put in it. I thought it had to do with the smooth reflective finish of the inside of the Brinkmann reflecting back some of the light lost from the collimator. So I drilled a larger hole in the mini Mag reflector and ground it down a bit to fit behind the collimator. I also had to grind down the key (the protrusion that seems like it was designed to fit into something anyway)on the collimator. It provides a beam with more light and a bigger spot. This new reflector looks like pretty much the same concept.
There is light lost when using a collimator albeit a relatively small percentage. If the inside of the head isn't reflective it's just going to absorb that energy as heat. A reflector to back up the collimator makes sense.
