6 cell maglite - upgrade to LED

I ahve a old 6 cell bat... sorry maglight that I was thinking of upgrading to LED I have seen prices vary from 10 to 50 dollars?

Can any one tell me what I should look for.

I want the light to be a similar to the original as possible.

What size cells does it take, C or D?

How much are you looking to spend?

It takes D Batteries, I would spend up to 50 to get it working the same as it does with the regular bulb, maybe more if the performace is markably better

Well, if you can stretch your budget a little more, you could buy a Malkoff dropin, and I would certainly call that markedly better. It's currently sold out here at $20 over your budget, but you could post a wanted ad on the MP and probably score a used one in your price range. In fact, that would be my primary suggestion for something well designed, solidly built, and plenty bright.
