An 'Everactive' 4D Lantern from Walmart for 3 bucks and change.

Very compact, seemingly decent plastic, partially dimpled reflector, momentary switch.

I put 4 fresh Energizers in it and had a tight hotspot with a decent corona. I just changed the KPR113 out and put in an HPR52 bulb. It opened up the hotspot just enough, and is quite bright.

Wish I'd found it before several other lights!

At my Walmart they sell Rayovac 6V Lanterns with completely textured reflector. Surefire style "micro" orange peel texture. It floats and even has a push button switch. Puts out an extremely nice long range beam especially with a KPR103 bulb. Only $1.99.

I looked at those Everactive lights too. Most of them are nice. There is a steel/rubber that is waterproof and has a partially faceted reflector (but it is backwards - faceting on top). It is similar to the Garrity Steel Beam 2D. I think those lights are OEM by Garrity. They put out decent beams for the price and are well made too.

Got one of those Rayovac 6V $1.99 lights. Threw in a Garrity 4D adapter which even holds spare bulbs, got hold of some 4500maH Nicd's and some KPR103 bulbs. It's now my main work light (electrician)

The Rayovac lantern you guys are talking about, is that this one?

Also, what is the Everactive lantern? Can I find a picture somewhere?

The rayovac lantern I have is black, with a rubber switch that sticks out. It has a smaller reflector/bezel, and a fully textured reflector:

I haven't been able to find any Everactive lights online. They are only available at select Wal Marts.

Nope, that ain't it ... the Rayovac I have has a 3 inch textured reflector. the pic you show looks like about 4 or 5 inch.

Heck, for a $1.99 it is cheaper to buy the entire flashlight for just the bulb!

Does the Rayovac have a portruding bottom or is the cardboard in the picture holding something? The reflector is plastic, right? Also, you need an adapter to put four D-cells in it?

The "protrusion" holds a 6V lantern battery to start you off. Too bad its only heavy duty type, but it still runs long because it is so big. You can buy a 4D adapter (made by Garrity?) that will also hold spare bulbs. The reflector is plastic but.
