I currently own two LED lights. One is a 6 LED flashlight made by LEDTronics. I have been looking for someone to build or help me build my dream light that I think would be a useful and marketable light.
Here goes. I have a light now that is called "Brite Eyes". It is a light that looks and is worn like glasses. Maybe you've seen them. Mine are a older model that have a pen light bulb and two AAA batteries with a switch on each ear stem. They work great when they worked.
What I am wanting to build is a light that is like the "Brite Eyes" but uses LEDs. My idea is for the light output of the 6 LEDs that my LEDTronics light has on each ear stem. Say a 6 or 7 LED array on each side. The batteries can eather be in the ear stems as in the "Brite Eyes" or on a small battery pack that is attached with a wire and worn on the belt. I think this light is much better suited for many applications where putting on a head lamp with the strap ect. or a full hat or helmet takes too long or is just a pain in the butt. The Brite Eyes just go on like glasses and can be put on or taken off in a second.
Anyone out there who wants to help with this? I work as a Aircraft inspector on large airliners and this would be a fantastic light. Only thing that I would change about the light output of my LEDTronics 6 LED light is how it distrubutes the light. The pattern needs to be tighter. Some flood lighting is fine but a more focused beam or cluster comeing out of each light pod on the new Glasses type light would work better. A good distance would be a 2 to 3 foot circle at 5 or 6 feet.
Well that's my thoughts. Write me a reply if you have some ideas, suggestions, or can do such a thing or help me build it. Where to buy LEDs, parts ect. I am handy to the Max, just need some advice and parts and I can do lots of stuff. But if someone out there is a Pro, or what have you, write me. Any help would be great.
Thanks!!!

That's funny, I used to have those brite eyes too, about 15 years ago, I'm gonna have to go and find them again.

Anyway, instead of using 6 leds, where I don't think you'll be able to change the focus very easily, how about using one Luxeon Star with optic on each side? If you only want the light output of 6 LED's, then I think you might be able to get away with not having any sort of circuit, although i don't know how long your batteries would last. I dont' remember too much about the brite eyes, but I think you could just wired it up directly in place of the bulb.

What about for people who are already wearing glasses, like me? Will it get in the way of vision.

Nope, you can wear them with glasses...I have some too--very very interesting.

C'mon, what's more important here, your vision or having TWO flashlights attached to your head? The answer should be obvious.

Yes the Brite Eyes can be worn with glasses. Anyone know a mfg. that can help me out? The one LED that was mentioned, exactly how brite are they?
Thanks folks.

Howz about a Kydex tube that holds an Arc and clips onto a pair of glasses. The temple part that is.
OOPS, looks like it's time for shop work this weekend.
