i dont know if this was mentioned. but they now have a 9.6V charged LI rechargable battery, that just might work.

i tested the li-ion one, with its terriblle low votlage, it was useless.
but it did have Low self discharge and some capacity.
this one should have low self discharge
little capacity (less than some ni-mhy ones)
but actually work in place of a 9V battery, imagine that.
