I would have to say that I have been impressed by the ease of use with the SF multi mode lights I have. I have not used any of the other brands but am sure thay are great as well. They are designed with a spacific idea in mind and you buy based on your use. My E2DL is a "defensive" (don't get bent out of shape over that word) light and therefore High is first and Low is second. The E1L I just got is just opposite of that and it has a different use in mind. I would not buy the E1L for a "defence" light. To me the UI's are very easy and it is natural to use on both. Press half way for high or fully click for high constant on. Press a second time for low or click for constant on Low. But I will admit most people have not graduated from the mag lights where they just push the button and it comes on and then push the button and it goes off. So I do find it funny that when lending a duel output SF I end up having to explain how it works first :)
