Seems a little presumptuous for a newbee to be posting about this but how do you forsee the change in flashlights when batteries like this become readily available; which apparently they are:

How different are they? Will they render my TK11 R2 obsolete?

I doubt that there will be many changes except for lights like the Data Bank 70 (which already uses A123 cells). Any flashlight that uses more current than IMR cells (higher capacity than A123, lower maximum current drain) can provide nearly useless since the runtime will be less than 5 minutes.

The biggest problem with A123's and all LiFePO4 cells in flashlights, is their awkward voltage. Of course being able to adapt, is one of flashaholism's greatest virtues. :)
