I cannot wait further for the availability of U2 for which I have placed an order with OpticsHq. He already charged me the postage cost. I have decided to replace the U2 with the A2.

I believe the A2 gift set has a rounder body. Is there anything else difference to the torch itself?

The A2 gift set comes with a spare MA02 lamp. I think it also comes in some sort of box. As I recall, the only A2 gift sets that OpticsHQ had were for the red LEDs. You may want to PM them to double check whether the body on the A2 in the gift sets are round or the older square body as I think they've had those gift sets for some time.

As OpticsHQ just got in several A2s with the white LEDs, the A2-HA-WH should be with the round body and in the new SF blister packaging.

Bottom line ... the only differences between the A2 and A2 gift set are the spare bulb and LED color availability .... and maybe body style. Anyway, a quick PM will clear up any questions you have about their stock.

Just thought of this before turning in for the night. A while back, I had priced an A2 with a spare MA02 lamp from OpticsHQ, and I don't believe that the two items were that much more expensive than the gift set, if at all.

Also, the white LEDs will be better for general, all-around use. See this thread for more info on LED comparisons and beamshots for the different color choices in the A2.
