A2 Spares Carrier

Is there a spares carrier designed for the A2?

Surefire lists the SC3 as an accessory on the A2 page but on the SC3 page it does not list the A2 as compatible.

I found a few references to the SC3 here in the forums where people noted the A2 lamp assembly is a bit large and causes pressure and possible cracking of the carrier.

Any enlightenment?

All my SC3s (3) have star cracks on the dome. I use them to carry MN0x lamps. I expoxy the tops after the cracks appear.

The SC3 is the recommended spares carrier for the MA02 lamp assembly. The SC2, six cell carrier will also hold the MA02.

I have an SC3 . .works great. ..however i called Surefire before buying to ask if the SC2 would hold the spare bulb. They claimed the MA02 would rattle . .so I stuck with the 4 batt holder. Actual owners of the A2/SC2 might dispell that rumour.

It will rattle in an SC1. The lamp base sits glass envelope up but the well is too deep. Some packing foam will solve the problem.

Haven't tried it with a SC2.

It will rattle, but like kelmo said, some padding will solve that problem. I just stuck a cotton wad in mine and pushed the lamp into it. No rattle and the cotton protects the lamp from impacts.

Yep, I have an SC1 with an EO-E2R and SC3 with MN03 in both of my vehicle gloveboxes. The foam padding from inside the tubes of the Lumens Factory lamps work great to pad the EO-E2R in the SC1 carrier and keep it in place.

The MA02 does seem to make the SC3 get a "star" crack on the lid. I solved the problem by sanding a mm or so of material off the lamp holder in the SC3 to relieve the pressure. Perfect fit now.
