AA Battery adapter for D Cells

I already searched and couldn't find an answer for this, so here it goes.

Other than battery availability, is there any real advantage to using a AA adapter. Also, is there a performance difference between the 1AA and the 2AA adapters?

Is there any harm in doing this for either incans or LED's?

I was thinking of using them in a maglite.

2xaa is going to give you twice the capacity vs a 1aa adaptor. I like the adaptors because I use rechargables in them which are pretty cheap to buy and my chargers are only good for AA and AAA. I'd have to buy a large charger to charge d and c cells. Those rechargeable d cells are hard to find and rather expensive.

the biggest advantage is that you can use AA cells, weather you use them cuz you can't get D or want to have lithium's, or nimh, or even li ion 14500, instead of alk. is another aspect, all of them outperform alkalines. opens new possibilities, just got to watch for resistance.

2x capacity, and you spread load between both cells, so less drop v

possibly yes, but it also can be huge benefit if used right.

what maglite, and what bulb?
i use these adapters in mag as well,
3d rebel benefits a lot from these adapters, i use 6 lithium's AA it draws 540ma, never leaks, can handle high heat, a lot lighter.
