AA\'s, cheap!

for anyone who might be interested...Jewel grocery stores here in Chicago have bricks of 24 Kodak AA alkalines on sale for $4 each. Dated 2010 and nicely shrink wrapped in sets of 4 inside the box, even. Don't know if this is available outside the Chicagoland area, but Albertsons and Publix are related chains, so you might find them there too /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
My appologies if this belongs in the electronics and batteries forum, just thought I'd get the word out to more people here.

For those who lives in Canada, Canadian Tire have Memorex AA Alkaline. 50 alkalines for C$10. Expiry date is 2010.

In Massachusetts, CVS Pharmacy stores have their store-brand AA alkalines on sale this weekend. Package of 16 batteries is only $1.99 if you have a CVS "shoppers card" (free for the asking). Date code on these batteries is 2011. I bought four packs!

I caught that special too. I used to use a lot of the CVS brand cells, but they stopped deep discounting on sales, so I stopped buying them. I buy more Walgreens brand than any other, because they heavily promote and deep discount them quite regularly.

I've got to stop buying them - I actually have more cells now than I use, especially now that I've started using lithiums in some of my lights. Guess I'll be giving extras away at Xmas.

Walgreens was having a special the other day when i was in there too. All their usually priced $9 packs were $4something. Unfortunately the discount was in the form of a rebate that you had to send in, so I passed /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif I'll wait till their regular sales happen every so often.

Cheapest AAs I have found are Rebatts... 10 for 1.00 at a dollar store here, I bought 5 packs of rayovac maxiumum alkalines for my niece when she comes up for Christmas. If they didn't weigh so much I could probably resell em to people here and maybe make a few bucks while I was at it.

Big Lots typically has some brand of alkaline for
sale for .25 each. Recently it has been the Gold
Ray-o-vacs dated 2009.
