Okay, so I was looking for RGBW strips in this thread, BUT have discovered the world of the ESP32 and WLED.
Holy cow!
Truly amazing technology at a cheap price. ESP32 boards can be had from $2-$6 a piece. The WS2812 strips can be had for $4-$30 depending on what you're spec'ing and where you're buying. USB-C, WiFi, Bluetooth all built into the ESP32 at that price. I was so used to Adafruit's prices that I'd sworn off this stuff.
The WLED firmware is more than capable and is very polished. And for my application, it's able to interface with DMX/Artnet/sacn of professional lighting boards.
It just saved me a ton of time and money.
Anyone else playing with this stuff? If not, you should!
