I need some advice of you experienced guys.

I have some Ti bezels and Ti clips, and want to remove the anodizing and polish it to mirror finish.

What products and chemicals I may use?

By the end, should I use a Dremel and some car wax to polish it?

Thanks in advance for any inputs!

There is a member here called.... KENSTER....

He most probably has more experience in polishing Ti than
any one else I know. Give him a PM

I PM'd him but no response yet. It seems that he's not having activity over the forums.

Anyone got any tips?

Shoot me iof I'm wrong on these one folks but, my understanding of anno on Ti is that it really isn't the toughest of surfaces--not nearly as hard as HA on Aluminum. If I'm correct here, I'm sure you could try some very fine lapping compound for lapping automobile engine valves. A Dremel or similar hand tool with a felt polishing wheel impregnated with the compound should take off the anno and give a great shine.

I have some pretty kickass stuff called "Happich Simichrome Polish" thats from germany and worked pretty well on a mirror polished Ti ring I made. Im not really sure how to get the anodizing off other than 80 grit sanding it for a long time, and then you would have to work your way up to a finer grit of paper to achieve the finish you want again. That sucks though and takes forever.

I would start with at least 400 grit.

I remove anodizing from my knifes all the time and it comes off pretty eazy. you can also use mag wheel etch, just spray it on let it set for a few seconds and wash it off and repeet till its all off then polish.

Kenster's thread on polishing (I think it was called "calling all polishing freaks" or something like that), goes over techniques. Check that out.

That the one!

There might be one other thread somewhere on polishing - maybe started by Cuso?

Either way, have fun and good luck!
