Hi Golden,

IIRC the Olight uses a pack made up of 18650 Li-on cells. The best way to maximize life is to store them in a cool, dry place at a 40% state of charge. This should give you several years of dependable service from the pack.

I keep all my cells in ziplock baggies, with dessicant, inside the refrigerator. You can make your own dessicant from nylon stockings and fresh step crystal cat litter. It works great.

also how long is the life expectancy of these batteries.

If you follow Papuga's advice and store them in the refrigerator at ~40% state of charge, the batteries will probably outlive you. Since the SR90 has a convenient battery indicator on the tail cap, just discharge the light until two of the four indicator lights are showing. This should get you close enough to 40% state of charge.

Cheers,
BG

In addition to the advice mentioned above, I would also check the battery every month or two. Some packs similar to the SR90's pack had parasitic drain from the circuitry in the pack. You don't want to over-discharge it.

If my understanding is correct the pack is a 3P 2S . A 3P is quite fragile as if only one go low the 2 cells in parallel go low at the same time. I rather sore such packs almost full charged

The instructions that came with your light should have said that you can not let the battery run completely out, without seriously impacting the lifespan. They say to recharge it every 3 months, if not used.

Since you mentioned "This time of the year", it sounds like you're only talking about getting through the Winter...a few months?

Do the ~ 40%, hit the indicator light to check it once in a while and see if its holding - and charge it a bit if it needs it.

That's probably adequate. My SR90 is in regular use, but I think that's about what I'd do if idling it for a few months.
